General Assembly Talk / Has anyone replaced the extruders on their Bukobot?
« Last post by onovanday on January 10, 2017, 12:17:41 AM »
I'm frustrated with my machine and I don't like the way the filament is fed into the extruders, so I am looking to swap mine out.

Looking for any recommendation if you've done this.

Thanks!

I sometimes get the ghosting, but it usually goes away after a few layers.
Have you measured the filament diameter along several points with good calipers and entered that in to slicer?  You might me putting out too much material.
Try dropping your bed just a bit to give the first layer more room.

Hope this helps,
Michael

2nd Extruder is RUINING my prints!

No matter how closely I have the two extruders aligned vertically, the 2nd still scrapes across the existing material either creating "ghosts" of the nearby geometry in the currently printing area, or just piain pulling the print up off the bed.

The 2nd head either ruins the part finish, or ruins the entire print.

Is anyone getting dual extruders to prints smoothly????

Bukito General Assembly / Re: Y motor moves only one time after reboot
« Last post by whosawhatsis on April 16, 2014, 09:46:08 PM »
So after the Y axis "takes one command", does it move the full distance requested, then refuse to move again? Does it make a difference if the first command is a (positive) jog command (like G1 Y100) or a home command (G28 Y0)? Is the motor locked after the move, or does it move freely?

I have been working a lot with Cura recently as well, and I'm planning to release official Cura profiles for the Bukobot and Bukito in the near future.

We originally had open access to the wiki, but the volume of spam attempts was overwhelming and we had to lock it down. As is explained on the front page (now kind of hidden between things): If you would like to register to contribute to these pages, you will now need to email us at wiki[at]bukobot.com with a USERNAME, Your Real Name and Email. You will then get a return email with a random password to login. Sorry to have to do this, but we've had many spam bots and will keep this until we figure out a better solution. Thanks.

Their ABS seems horrible, if I'm wrong let me know, but I ordered a sample and when  I tried to use it it just snapped over and over again right at the extruder.  So when I went to remove it from the tubing it had broken all along the inside of the tube every 2 inches or so.  I would not personally recommend their ABS natural.
Please report this issue with the ABS using the contact form at http://toybuilderlabs.com/contact/. There have been a few rare occurrences of this issue with their material, but they're quick to replace the faulty spools and are dedicated to finding and eliminating the cause, so they need to receive reports of this issue whenever it pops up.

I don't know how to get into editing the wiki, but I second your idea. I use Cura a lot (it's just so fast!), so I'd love a place learn and share settings.

Yes, I use KisSlicer on every part...It is very fast and easy to use.  I would be glad to provide or settings for PLA as soon as we receive our new Bukobot in about three weeks or so...and test it then...

Thanks B
